| As India’s largest and oldest society of IT and computing professionals, the Computer Society of India has always aimed at inculcating professionalism and research aptitude among its student members - the budding professionals. In pursuant with the above, it has been decided to organize the national and regional student conventions on a regular basis with the aim/objectives and expected outcomes focusing on the indicated themes/technical tracks listed hereunder: |

| The conventions shall be organized with joint collaboration of Chapters/Branches and reputed academic institutes in several regions of India - especially reaching out to the unrepresented territories. The orientation shall be towards open source software development, end-user development methodologies, affordable computing, software product lines, systems’ methodologies and trans-disciplinary applications and not just programming aspects. The best technical papers (including the presentations of project work) will be considered for presentation during the subsequent National Student Convention. Further, the combined proceedings of regional student conventions held in an academic year shall also be published in order to motivate and encourage research publications of the students. |
| The CSI aims to be an ideal facilitator and a springboard when it comes to shaping the future of students along with the industry and academia. The students in particular and academia at large need to play a pro-active role in reaching out the research and consultancy opportunities and networking with the industry. In this context, it is an earnest appeal for student’s participation and academia-industry support in these conventions which eventually would be foundation for realizing India’s Vision 2020. |
