CSI 2010 at Mumbai Our 45th Annual National Convention on the theme of Technologies for the Next Decade: iGen would be held during 25-27 November 2010 in Mumbai. Following CSI’s key mission to prepare the technology Community in India for the future, our teams in Mumbai are working very hard to provide excellent opportunity to share insights with the participating delegates through iTech, iArchitecture, iOutsource, iMedia and other emerging areas. As you are also aware, Knowledge sharing meets of CEO, CIO, SIGs apart from the meetings of Presidents council, EXECOM, NC, AGM would be held at the CSI-2010. CSI Awards Every year, the CSI recognizes individuals, Chapters, organizations and projects that promote adoption of technology across all levels of the community. All regional Vice-Presidents have been involved in assessing the performance of our chapters and individuals for duly awarding them at the CSI-2010. The National IT Awards: Awarded in three categories of Best Software, Best Shrink Wrapped Software and Best IT Usage. Shri Anil Srivastav, IAS, the Convener, has started the process of inviting the entries and assessment. You would find the announcement in CSIC/csi-india.org. Young IT Professional Awards: Awarded to the individual exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism and achievement. The EXECOM members, Dr. D B V Sarma, Shri Phalguni Mukherjee and Shri Jayant Krishna, would handle this pending process at Kolkata. CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards: Awarded for the best use of technology in government at State, Department, District and Project Level. This is being handled by Gen. Dr. R.K.Bagga, Prof. ML Saikumar and e-Gov team.
Guru Poornima Ahmedabad Chapter of CSI has combined “Guru Poornima” with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the formation of Gujarat State: “ Swarnim Gujarat” and called organized an attractive convention to listen to the stalwarts who contributed for knowledge Development in the state through CSI. It is a great experience to listen to them on a variety of topics and to honor these” Gurus” on 25 July 2010. We congratulate the chapter on this innovative convention which has contributed in connecting the elders and youngsters to share their experiences. The newsletter is impressive. Mr. Pradeep Jain, Mr. Bharatbhai Patel, Dr. Nandakumar, Dr. Nilesh Modi, Prof. Kanubhai, Mr. Nisarg Pathak and their excellent teams deserve my salute for their contributions in making the event highly successful.
Gandhinagar Chapter The Capital of Gujarat is coming up with several IT initiatives and with new educational institutions. Prof. N.N.Jani, Prof. S.M.Shah, Prof. Neelesh Modi, Mr. Digvijay Singh Rathod, Mr. Pinaki Patel and Mr. Nisarg Pathak with their enthusiastic teams could contribute in promoting membership drive in Gandhinagar. Gandhinagar chapter has been inaugurated on 26 July 2010. We are grateful to Shri Maneklal Patel, Prof Dileepbhai Kapadia and Mr. Vallabhbhai Patel of Kadi Sarva Viswavidyalaya for their encouragement and support. Shri Bharatbhai Patel, Shri Pradeepbhai jain and Shri Bipinbhai Mehta of Ahmedabad Chapter have extended all logistics to the Gandhinagar team. We all wish them success in conducting innovative programs that would benefit the society at large as per the objectives of CSI.
Cuttack- Bhubaneswar meet A meeting of the members in the Region 4 has been arranged by Shri Sanjay Mohapatra, Regional Vice-President and Shri Ajit Kumar Sahu, Reg. Student Coordinator, in order to review the programs and for planning new initiatives in the region. The meet has a value addition, with an excellent lecture by Prof. G.K.Naik, Director, IIIT on “ IT-after Recession”. It is good to meet some of the legal professionals including Justice P.K.Mohanty who is the son of the famous Justice J.K. Mohanty, founder member of CSI, Cuttack chapter. These life members of CSI are the strength of the chapter to make a model to follow in the country to involve society at large as members of CSI. Shri Sanjay Mohapatra and Mr. Ajit Kumar Sahu, are also successful in calling people from the entire region including from Raipur. Prof. Abhaya Kumar Samal and his team of Disha Institute of management and Technology are initiating the activities at Raipur while the Senior most member Shri Himanshu K. Mohanty of DAV institutions has taken up the role of increasing the Institutional members in the region. We wish them all success in their attempts to serve our members at large with innovative programs.
CSI-DOEACC Society As is known, in the initial period of formation of DOEACC society, CSI has played a key role in offering high quality educational programs in non-formal sector for developing Human resources. However, over the years, DOEACC has been handling the activities through accredited institutions and Government departments. Our attempts to associate CSI and DOEACC have resulted in entering an MOU on 29th July 2010, through which, our CSI chapters and CSI Student Branches (Institutional Members of CSI) would be considered as authorized study centers for direct candidates of CCC and O-level courses, Examination centers for On-line examinations of O, A, B and C-level courses and Training centers for sponsored programs of Government. We are grateful for the support and courtesies extended by Shri R. Chandrasekhar IAS, Secretary, GOI, DIT, Dr. Gulsan Rai, Director General, DIT, Dr. Birendra Singh, Dr. G.V.Raghunathan, Dr. M.M.Tripathi, Dr. Siddiqui, Lt. Cmdr. Chopra, Mr. Dhyani and other esteemed members at DIT and DOEACC. CSI would prepare a list of eligible chapters and Institutional members who have complied the norms of CSI and supply that list to DOEACC for the process. I am sure that a win-win situation would continue between CSI and DOEACC and would go a long way in contributing for High Quality Human Resources Development. |
